Understand and apply an agile framework for project management – Scrum. This course allows delegates to gain an appreciation of the Scrum framework and how to apply it in their own context. A varied mix of both theory and practical exercises, makes this a popular choice for clients wishing to start a more agile journey towards a high-quality and frequent delivery structure.
This course is aimed at all members of a delivery team, and will introduce the roles and responsibilities within an effective Scrum team with a strong focus of the ScrumMaster role.
This course will be delivered in-person in a large, well-ventilated conference room. The number of places available for this course is based on attendees working at a safe, social distance throughout the course.
From our experiences of running many training classes, we have developed and iterated on a training style to manage both your energy level and attention span! By using self-led exercises and group discussions we aim to ensure you get the most of your training experience with us.
Although each course we deliver is slightly different and tailored to our delegates needs and circumstances, the core agenda of the Certified ScrumMaster class set out by Scrum Alliance must include the following:
- What is Scrum?
- Product Backlogs
- Planning in Scrum
- Sprint Backlogs
- Daily Scrums
- The Definition of “Done”
- Scrum Teams
- The ScrumMaster Role
- Burndown Charts
Developers, testers, analysts, designers, project managers, product managers etc. Just about anyone involved in product delivery.
As the course is focussed on the ScrumMaster role, people who are intending to take that role on will gain most from this course.
A basic grasp of agile principles may help, but is not essential for this course.
All of the learning materials you will need will be supplied for this course, including student handouts, pens and drawing equipment. You will not need a laptop or device for this course.
You may wish to bring your own hand sanitiser and/or water bottle if you prefer.
Full details joining instructions will be sent to you by email when your booking is completed.
What is a CSM?
This course is endorsed by the Scrum Alliance, Inc (www.scrumalliance.org) and on completion entitles the delegate to claim a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) license, valid for two years.
Is there an exam?
Yes. The CSM accreditation is achieved by attending this two-day course and participating fully in the exercises and class discussions, and then taking an online test in your own time afterwards. The test is 35 multiple choice questions based on the course materials. Delegates must achieve 24 questions or more correctly to pass the test.
Is my booking refundable/transferrable?
Yes. We will issue a full refund if you cancel your booking 30 days before the course starts. However, cancellation (or no-show at the event) after this time you will result in you being charged the full amount due.
At our discretion, we may transfer your booking to another scheduled course date, providing payment has been received.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Get in touch with us directly if you have any more specific questions, and one of the team will be happy to help.
